I hate things like this. Like sure you can support transgender equality but sexual dimorphism is a thing. Not taking that into account is just stupid on the part of the authorities and whomever pressures them to let things like thus happen.
@Davrial, what we need is an advance in the technology of sex changes.
If we could get to the point where a post procedure patient is indistinguishable from someone born that gender, pretty much all of the issues regarding transgender become solved.
@I Are Lebo, what you're asking to have is the ability to change human chromosomes... impossible to do.
@I Are Lebo, I sorely wish technology like that existed. Hormone therapy and the surgeries there after are no picnic, I'll tell you that.
@Countrywide, I'm not so sure... Viruses do exist that modify DNA. I think I'm the future genetic correction and modification will be possible. Hard to tell what would happen if you mess with DNA, but to gain control over it would end genetic disease and open the door to evolution by choice.
@I Are Lebo, you are born and die male or female no matter what you add or remove.
@Countrywide, wellllll, that bad guy on the James bond with the diamonds in his face did it. But yeah
@Mit, Well, I guess!
@I Are Lebo, not being political, but this is literally impossible to do. No procedure can reform all the muscles throughout your body. It's specifically what Darial was referring to - sexual dimorphism
@Davrial, I used to think this but now I dont know. I watched a documentary on a transgendered mountain bike rider and she was good but still got her ass kicked against men. I guess what their point was was that the hormone treatment gets rid of any of the inherent advantages on sex brings (other than physical height)
@Raped by a lesbian, No, it does not. It weakens the advantage but it does not remove it. A couple months or even years is not going to come even close to negating all the differences caused by sexual dimorphism.
@Davrial, just saying what they said and the her statistics did prove that. Not saying they're right not saying your wrong just that its caused me to think
@Davrial, if you can't take a joke get off Ifunny
@Countrywide, impossible with today's technology. You never know what the future holds. Sixty years ago it was impossible for a computer to be less than several tons. Now, I'm holding a computer more powerful than theirs in my hands.
@Raped by a lesbian, it depends on what point they begin transition. If transition starts before puberty or early into puberty, it makes all the difference, because they can then have the puberty of the second they are becoming instead of the second they were born as.
@I Are Lebo, *sex, not second
@Countrywide, changing chromosomes wouldn't be necessary. There is an intersex condition where a person has XY but still develops into a female because of androgen insensitivity. You can theoretically repress androgens in such a way that the Y chromosome has no effect.
@OriginalName022, original comment i responded too wanted "patients to be indistinguishable from those born with that gender" to do that you would have to change chromosomes
@Countrywide, my point is that it is possible for someone to be female and have XY chromosomes, as people with androgen insensitivity develop as female and the only thing they are missing is a uterus. These people, despite having XY chromosomes, are considered female at birth and live their lives as normal women (except they can't reproduce). It could be possible to repress the Y chromosome entirely and they would be indistinguishable from people with androgen insensitivity, who are female.
@OriginalName022, you're looking at a niche scenario not the subject as a whole as we were talking about.
@kenwaysaga, I would love for you to explain how that was a joke.
@I Are Lebo, well hormone therapy does make a guys muscles a lot smaller and would handle fat distribution and everything like a female
@Countrywide, not necessarily, though it would help. There's a lot of ways that would be theoretically possible, from nanites to retrovirals. There's also other options we haven't even thought of yet.
@Braumz, it only goes so far, though.
@Countrywide, you just open the console and type player.sexchange; player.openlooksmenu 1;
@KingofFunnypics, do you want kronenberg's. Cuz that's how you get kronenberg's.
Remember when Bender had a robo sex change operation and won all those medals.
@clintfromhere, well, he was a guy before... So
I'm pretty sure with sports you stay in your sex not whatever you feel like.
And I'm cheese
Ah yes, it's been a while since we had a good flame war
Or is it that HE'S a GIRL?! *mindblown*
@RhettandLink, you do understand that's the point right? That even though it's girls track and field the person is transgender so they were/is a man
@Sah3369, 😂yes. I was just doing a play on words...
@RhettandLink, cool I just didn't sense it so I had to ask
@RhettandLink, (its ok i understood what you were doing and i chuckled)
@Sah3369, on the flip side, a transgender (female to male), would not think it's fair to compete against a man in certain sports, right?
There is a difference in being a transgender and a transsexual. Transgender people still have their natural sex organs and hormones but identify as the opposite gender. Transsexuals have changed their sex organs and most likely have medication to help change their hormones to the opposite sex. Gender is emotional identification, while sex is biological and physical.
I read that she finished 3rd or something, she's not that good. And I consider myself a "cis" man and I suck at running. Having a djck (regardless of how you identify) doesn't make you any faster.
@arcadefire, yeah having a dick doesn't but having testes which produce tesosterone allow men, whether or not they identify as a women or not, to have the oppurtunity to be stronger, faster, etc. (in most cases) as long as they work for it. That's why most of the time when a guy and a girl do the same workout routine and eat the same diet and all that stuff the guy ends up getting stronger. Its a biological advantage
@HeroOfFunnypics, a dïck actually slows you down. Air resistance.
That's why most swimmers, figure skaters, etc are circumcised.
@The Nephalem, i can't tell if you're serious or not. You probably aren't but i can't tell but then again its 4 am and i haven't slept in 2 days.
@HeroOfFunnypics, most trans women take estrogen, which slows down production of testosterone and gives them more female-like strength levels. Most trans men take testosterone, which slows down production of estrogen and gives them more male-like strength levels.
@HeroOfFunnypics, go take a nap. Plz
@HeroOfFunnypics, I was talking about this specific case, but thanks for clearing that up.
@HeroOfFunnypics, I don't have an opinion, but playing devils advocate, what do you say to women who have naturally high testosterone?
@Ostrich Thief, i mean those are the women who tend to stand out in a sport when compared to their peers. But the average amount of testosterone in a female is very insignificant compared to men (females: 30-95 deciliters/nanoliters, males: 300-1250) so that being said even if a female has a higher level of testosterone compared to other females, it wpuldnt compare to the amount men produce since a females top range is around 3x less than the males bottom range
But does a trans woman taking testosterone blockers have higher testosterone still than a naturally high testosterone cis woman
The idea that men and women can't compete with each other in some sports is ridiculous and needs to change.
@ayyyy, depends which sports in fairness because almost all the time men have the advantage and it would be unfair
@ayyyy, athletics like track and swimming can't be mixed because men have a biological advantage, as their bodies produce more testosterone. Check out professional times for any running event. The men's times are significantly better all the time. It's just due to a biological advantage.
@ayyyy, It is an idea, it is a fact (In most highly physical sports). Soccer for example, the best women's national team in the world, the USA, would not stand a chance against the USA's extremely average men's team. It's unfortunate that the bodies are built this way, but it's never going to change.
@xSparkySharky, *it is not an idea
Where is my delete option Stuckpixel :'(
@xSparkySharky, it's not unfortunate it's just the way things are meant to be
@xSparkySharky, why'd you have to pick soccer as an example cuz i am pretty sure that women's soccer teams tend to be better than men's lol
@ayyyy, Not even being sexist, but if men and women were to say, play football together, 9/10 the guy would f*cking destroy the girl. It's just how we're built :/
@D1O, "some sports"
Can me please no start up this sh!t. If you don't believe in transgender people thats fine I just don't see why people have to keep having a go at them.
@Nosurrender, (when it comes to jokes) making fun of a person/ group is one of the steps of acceptance. First your ignored then hated and made fun of then mostly just made fun of. Viola the steps to being accepted
@Sah3369, No. That's not at all what it is.
@Nosurrender, and as long as people like you can't accept others opinion, then you have the problem.
@Deanmon, ? Was there a point being made or just emphasising something you thought was funny?
I'm not ever sure (s)he actually got first place
Does this mean people like Conor McGregor could fight women's UFC?
