Wow, good thing they were in church where everyone is so helpful
@Deth, because it was gods will and who are they to go against goods will.
@Deth, woah buddy some people actually give five whole dollars to god who doesn’t have any use for mortal currency.
@Deth, of course, he’s lucky he’s got a whole room full of thoughts and prayers.
@theduuuude, the ignorance combined with arrogance astounds me. In Hebrew and Christian practice (add in Hindu and Islam) offering was never because God needed it. It was a sign of recognition of faith and gratitude. God never “needed” mortal currency. BUT American individualists do treat money as God.
@jaski, Yeah it's for upkeep of the church,paying the people who work for the church, helping the poor, the missionaries, and the people of the church. Our church bought a really nice car seat/carrier/stroller that would have been a big financial hit for us, plus all the nice gifts the people of church got us on their own for my baby shower. They also helped build a school in the Philippines that works as a food pantry and a storm shelter. Most of that couldn't have been done without tithes.
@Deth, Must be one of Joel Osteen's churches
@jaski, that sure sounds a lot like giving god money with extra steps
@theduuuude, It’s a sign of faith, sacrifice, selflessness and charity. NO ONE thinks God needs money. Ask any religious person if God needs their money. In the New Testament there is a poor women who tithes her last coins.
43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”
@Snarfel Burger, so god made that poor woman give the rest of her money to him?
Now we’re talking bribery.
Also I’m just kidding mate this is a funny picture app not youth group.
@theduuuude, you’re not kidding. You hate religion, that’s okay. But I’m a Christian so I want to defend it. But seriously, there’s not a single person who thinks God either needs your money or MADE the poor widow give the last of her money.
@Snarfel Burger, uh, no. I’m kidding. I don’t hate religion, that would be a foolish thing to hate or waste emotion on lol.
Edit: I believe you mean to say I don’t care for religion, that would be a more accurate assumption.
Ummm why does nobody move to check on that man
@Dudester297, they're sending thoughts and prayers.
@Cuactemoc4919, nobody move! Jesus will save that man.
@Dudester297, most people didn’t notice it. Only the few trying to get attention.
@Sexy Homunculus, exactly!
Looks like the proper Christian response, doing nothing.
@DaisyTim, abolition of slavery, hospitality, 911 intervention volunteers were almost entirely Christian led. Atheists and agnostics sit on their ass because they’re too individualistic and self-righteous towards religions.
@jaski, that’s all true, but you’re still gonna get downvoted because your comment didn’t support the woken
@jaski, we dont talk about what we have done. my friends and me helped start a little league soccer team in my home town and no one knows ot was us. donated blood. helped other lps wieght. random acts of kindness. so unlike religious idiots that have to show off what they have done. and no matter what ill always be a monster because i am a male. do good even if no one is looking yet people will know you by your deeds yeah ok. no one sees the true good deeds cause they are done without people looking.
@Cuactemoc4919, also im that righteous goy. Or gentile. Whatever floats your boat. i need a snickers im cranky
@Cuactemoc4919, good job. Can you imagine how much more good things were done by Christians that were not recorded if they were able to take down slavery? Christians don’t just do good to feel good about themselves like you. They put others before them.
@Cuactemoc4919, by the way, who said Christians talk about what we’ve done? I’m starting historical facts.
@jaski, everything we do is selfish even doing good. You believe in a god due to fear more than because you actually believe.
@jaski, dont bring history and religion cause youll lose mate. But hey youre right.
@Cuactemoc4919, so much ignorance and arrogance. A dangerous combo for you. So do a little research and see who abolished slavery? Who cared for the outcasts in the 1st century? Who recognized women’s rights? Facts over your feelings, mate.
@jaski, youre right
@Cuactemoc4919, You say, “religious idiots have to show off what they have done... but I don’t talk about what i’ve done” then you immediately follow it up with a good thing you’ve done. Seems contradictory.
If Christians are announcing the good things they’ve done, then they are not following scripture (which is common).
Matthew 6 says:
6 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
@Snarfel Burger, youre right.
@Cuactemoc4919, I know
And they all just wait for someone to save the drummer
When God says its his time, who are they to stop it
And Jesus wept
New member: Jesus Christ!
Singer: Yeah. He'll be ok. Just give him few days.
Alright, how about that?
Guess he got... crossed up
It had him in its crosshairs
It’s hard to come across a decent drummer these days
The group was at a crossroads, they decided to become a crossover band
What do you get when you cross a drummer?
Dems' the devil's drums
Don't cross the drummer...
