I cropped a picture I found in uncut
A 25 killstreak gets you laid.
@Smash Like Gaston, you can do that with the 25. Just get the uniform
I would never let them draft me, I’d just leave the country
@benderama, well then you're a coward and a traitor.
@Dan S Krieger, 🖕🏻
@benderama, hey buddy, fxck you ok?
I hope if they do reinstate involuntary conscription that a unit is stood up specifically to track down dodgers. This unit won't punish them with jail or courts. Once conscripted you fall under UCMJ. Punishments can get pretty savage, and I hope the penalty for dodging is front line deployment and the only way to redeem yourself is to die or kill enough that you can safely walk back to the RE.
Coincidentally, that should be the punishment for all dereliction, desertion or unauthorized absence.
Unless you make it back under your own power with confirmed kills, you receive no benefits from the VA. You do not rate the hero's burial, you do not get honorably discharged. I'd prefer all the deserters and dodgers be forced to perform all working parties and gain no rank or discharge until death by natural causes or their own hand.
Cowardice has no place in this world son. Stand up or get fxcked
@crustybucket, I shouldn’t have to fight for a government I hate
@benderama, if involuntary conscription is necessary, yes you should. Understand that the draft has been eliminated in favor of an all volunteer force because we are capable of projecting force upon our enemies with the numbers we have.
If we get ourselves into a situation where a draft is needed, it's because it is all or nothing. Congress must reinstate it which won't happen without dire need. If Hawaii actually had been nuked or something else terrible happens we may need it. We may have a more experienced and technologically advanced military, but NK has numbers, artillery, and tanks on their side. Not to mention China may still back Asian Cartman.
It won't be fighting for a government you hate at that point. It will be to keep the fight from our shores. If you're still that jaded that you would watch innocent people die because you dislike the US, all the more reason to stick you in front of someone who doesn't care about your objections.
@crustybucket, I’d just leave, I don’t kill people and I don’t like guns, I’d be worthless in the military, I don’t do well with authority, I’ll just go to New Zealand with my family and be safe
@benderama, if you hate the government so much, I'd kindly ask you to take stock in everything around you. It's all because of this government you have it. Dislike the current figurehead all you'd like. There's no real power in that office. Influence sure, but not power. Take a trip to a country that better fits your ideals. I've seen what's abroad, and I can promise you, you won't like it. It'll be fun for a while sure. You may even be happy for a time, but eventually that newness wears off. You notice the problems are much more than you originally thought. Everything is more expensive and you have less money to spend on it. The oppressive tax system will grind on you. The things you take for granted here, because of the government and our economic system, aren't as prevalent outside our borders.
Of course, if you HAD traveled you would know that. You would know that the US is the most wealthy, least racist, most equitable, and by far the most diligent with your rights.
@crustybucket, I have traveled and that’s not true, there are several countries that are better off than the US, with free health care and education, the people are happier and they never feel the need to go to war
@benderama, but, I guess if you hate it here so much you could flee if a draft ever did happen. With our current leadership and the attitude towards military I suppose you could try and run. You'd likely be stopped at the border and detained, or worse than that. I wouldn't put it past the Republicans to pass a measure to shoot on sight any deserter or dodger. Since it still is a lawful punishment for desertion and once your number is called you are technically held by the UCMJ.
You could hope for a missed movement or failure to go charge, but since those are still pretty harsh (hard labor or bread and water.) You wouldn't be getting off easy.
@crustybucket, it’s never going to go down that way, besides they would draft the young people first, I’m in my late 30s with a wife and kids
@benderama, are you college educated? If so, or even in a needed trade or skill, you will be called up. In fact, it would stand to reason that since you already have continued a bloodline you would be a more acceptable choice than a young person that would need to be trained.
Consider this. You've already had some experience in your given career field. You have contributed to society by birthing the next generation. You already meet criteria for advancement to a higher rank simply to help train or lead through expertise. Because of this, you could easily meet the requirements for individual augmentation directly to the front lines to replace or bolster a unit.
Sure they probably will yank young kids, or even recall prior service first (which takes a separate act of congress) but eventually the barrel will hit the bottom. Then again anyone of military age (you) would be given a "lottery number" so it wouldn't be that hard for you to be called if they did it like in Vietnam.
Although I haven't been diagnosed with PTSD and have been out for nearly a year, I do think I suffer from it along with depression. Thank you funnypics community for always making me laugh and find joy in everyday life
When you get into WWIII it will be a several billion killstreak for the major countries. You don't get anything. The person on the button does.
