I keep hearing how great this game is, but no matter how great it is, I'm not buying a stupid switch just to play it...
@AbelFive, it's not only on Switch
@AbelFive, well if it's cause of money problem, then really there's no rush in getting it. But the wiiu version is pretty much the same, and to me the game is really great so far so if ya got a wiiu then ya know go ahead
@Cruxio , I haven't bought a Nintendo console since the Super Nintendo. Is it on that?
@AbelFive, maybe it'll be on GameCube too. I guess we can only hope for a reverse reboot
@Cruxio , what else is it on
@Masta Roshi, I believe it is also on the Wii-U. I was fine getting a Switch, though. Only $300, and there are other games coming that I'd like to play.
@AbelFive, dude... you are missing out on like 20 years of awesome games
@Cruxio , hot dog, thanks
@AbelFive, Same here bro, I love Nintendo but their last few consoles have been complete sh*t. And I'm not buying another one for 2 or 3 great games. I just wish they'd drop the gimmicks and work on making an actual good console.
@Grimoire Weiss, or just suck it up and make their games available on other consoles.
I get that they like to make money on their stuff, but I simply can't afford a PC, Xbone, PS4, and a new Nintendo whatever. Just make the games available on everything and let the merits of the console dictate who succeeds.
@Grimoire Weiss, I think the biggest mistake people make when looking at Nintendo is thinking they're trying to compete with Sony and Microsoft. For what it is, the switch is an amazing machine purely for the versatility it offers. A great feature is the ability to not pause your game for bathroom breaks. Just bring it with you.
@AbelFive, no, it's on the gameboy advanced
@0123meir, And then you get sued by Nintendo for their skewed Japanese vision of copyright infringement
It's a watered down dark souls clone without single original idea in its head. Remember when Nintendo was a trendsetter? I 'member.
@Galven, how is it even a little like dark souls?
@Galven, *Pepperidge Farm remembers ☝
@Zyroy, combat system is similar to dark souls, although I don't see how that is a bad thing.
@Autismo, i disagree. swinging various weapons in a game is not exclisive to dark souls. I find it very unique in how it forces you to use any and all weapons rather than picking and upgrading youre favorite like in dark souls.
@Zyroy, the combat and weapons and tough enemies are where the dark souls inspiration comes from. However, the game is nothing like dark souls and is an extremely original title, so I don't know how the original comment could feel that way
@Zyroy, personally I find it like dark souls cause the combat can be very unforgiving, before I got to the groom divine beast I had to climb up death mountain and one of the groups of enemies you have to fight includes 2 big moblins. One of them used a club and proceeded to punt me off the mountain through my block and I hit several ledges while falling down and lost 8/10 hearts before falling in lava, then it teleported me up to the moblin cause that was the last piece or solid ground I was actually standing on before the lava and he punted me off again before I had a chance to stand up, this proceeded to happen 5 more times getting rid of all 4 fairies I managed to find and even went through Mipha's blessing (full revive plus 5 extra hearts) and I was down to my last few hearts before I managed to actually stand up and kill the dude.
@nemestrinus , while that sounds like a shotty dark souls thing to happen both enemy placement and environment wise; it also betrays that format in your ability to get over powered items very early such as bomb arrows. Plus while the envirnment can be souls like that's only when you treat it linearly. Botw is very unsoulsy in that you can skip over entire areas via climbing and gliding plus the plethora of ways it lets you fire one arrow or move a box and kill everybody.
@Godzillary Clinton, Legend of Zelda has been around since 1987. Upgraded designs on their enemies came with A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time in the 90's. Enemies being difficult aren't exclusive to Dark Souls. Maybe nowadays because most games have a watered down difficulty, but just because a game is designed to be hard doesn't mean Dark Souls did it first. Just means most games are too easy
@Cruxio , I agree completely. I love dark souls and even more so I love the Legend of Zelda series. The fact of the matter is, the developers on Breath of the Wild played several games for some inspiration and Dark Souls, Skyrim, and The Witcher were among them. Just because it draws inspiration from other games doesn't make it unoriginal. Every adventure game ever draws some inspiration from Ocarina of Time. I just feel like the similarities shared with Dark Souls are definitely done on purpose, and are welcome in a series whose recent entries were too easy
@Godzillary Clinton, fair enough good sir. Don't mean to get touchy about it. It's Zelda. That's got a special kind of love
@Cruxio , too true. The best games I've ever played were LoZ games. I bought a switch just for this title as I never owned a Wii U. I was so pumped I stood in line at midnight for it, which I never do. I was more excited for this game than probably any other game
@Godzillary Clinton, respect. I did the same thing. Went straight from Logan to Best Buy.
@Cruxio , I don't have anything to contribute to this debate, but it cracks me up a little bit that the guy who started hasn't said anything since that first comment.
I can relate, my friend who also has the game has told me about things you could get like Dark Link clothing, Ganon's Horse, shrine quests, and more
