Yup, it's happening
N O O N E C A R E S
They literally only did this because they knew they'd get attention for it. The shows ratings are tanking. By pandering they're getting an ąsston of publicity just like they knew they would.
@RustyFapwagon, she literally said she's glad they hired a feminist tho. And not equality feminist either.
@HellboyPerlman, so then they openly admitted to pandering?
Doesn't change that they did it for ratings. They're doing this because they knew they could claim "muh sexism" and then create a media shjtstorm off the butthurt they manufactured. It's free publicity.
@HellboyPerlman, also implying anyone currently carrying the feminist title believes in equality at all
@RustyFapwagon, I think it will be an interesting gimmick and the only reason it's been tanking is cause they wrote Matt Smith's doctor while Capaldi was playing. The previous season was amazing though. It was written even better than the first two of Capaldi's seasons. Clara was a crap companion and should have been replaced after Capaldi's first season
@RustyFapwagon, I didn't see you write pandering at the first time. Yeah they're doing major pandering and that's what annoys me because I was a fan for the story and how uniquely everyone played the role.
@RustyFapwagon, I mean partially yeah, but I also think it would really change the dynamic of the show. After so long of doing one thing, changing it up could help it a little bit
@K1lgore, I wish I could agree, but the only explanation is bait and I'm pretty positive we're gonna see another GhostBusters style incident at the end of this.
@RustyFapwagon, I highly doubt it would be anything like the new ghostbusters. The new ghostbusters relied too much on nostalgia and it had crappy writing anyway. You could be right, but I doubt it would be like that.
I mean, if you think about it like the new Star Wars movies. Both had female roles that would typically be played by men, but they turned out great. They werent pushing the fact that the lead was female, it was just something different. The new ghostbusters though was the opposite though, it pushed it too much and that's what ruined it (besides the terrible writing itself). I guess we'll see what happens with this
@K1lgore, theyre pushing this pretty hard. That's why I'm holding that belief. I'm not sure it'll be as dramatic, but a big hit will not surprise me if it comes. What we'll probably see is a large initial spike and then a sharp drop.
No hate here. No need for pandering. No need for an agenda. If you are overly concerned that a science FICTION alien who travels through time and space in a TARDIS, fights other aliens who are robots, pepper pots, shape changing pink sucker fish like maggots, and can also REGENERATE into a different person when he should die, does so and happens to become a woman.... then I have to ask if the gender change is actually the least believable part of the show. Let's get past it ASAP
@Mark Twains ghost, It seems like the only people who are getting upset don't even watch the show. I mean the Master, a time lord just like the Doctor, changed into Missy, a woman, when he regenerated so it can happen to the Doctor idg the fuss.
@Mark Twains ghost, still would have rather seen the first ginger Doctor.
@jchrisgilmore , I can imagine the Doctor regenerating going, "Ohhh ovaries... " grabs breasts, "Oooooo these are new." Then looks at hair, "Noooo I'm still not a ginge!"
@Mark Twains ghost, that would be acceptable.
I mean it makes sense to go this route. The regeneration can go any direction so eventually this would have to happen. I'm curious to see how well she plays the role.
Ok I'm gonna throw in my two cents
I'm not a Doctor Who fan. So I don't care.
Well guess I'm not a whovian anymore
@Medic135, Answer these without googling:
1. Who is the oldest human?
2. What cryptic message throughout time does the Doctor keep seeing?
3. What Companion's family member does the Doctor love the most?
4. Why is darkness bad?
5. Who's the biggest life saver of the Doctor?
@A Flying Panda,
1. Lady Cassandra
2. Bad wolf
3. Donna's grandpa (more of an opinion)
4. Not sure
5. Clara Oswald she kept his timeline from being unravelled
1. Captain Jack Harkness since it's revealed that he becomes the Face of Bo who dies on New Earth and outlives Lady Cassandra.
3. He loves his wife Melody Pond aka River Song who is Amy Pond and Rory's daughter.
4. Because the Vashta Nerada are the darkness.
@A Flying Panda, oh ya got me on that Captain jack, Totally skipped my mind he did technically outlive Cassandra
@A Flying Panda, I still like to believe he loved ol grandpa Noble more than anyone
@Medic135, Hey I mean to each, their own.
Took them long enough... posted this Sunday when it was announced, didn't show up until Friday. Thanks for dragging your heels, Stuckpixel.
