Heh, German soldiers were called “Jerry” during the war. Hence why in this meme it’s Jerry making that face instead of Tom.
@dankblunts420, that's actually where the tom and Jerry cartoon originates. I can't quite remember who Tom is supposed to represent. I just remember learning the two traded blows back and forth in the war for quite some time
@Zakkr169, Tommies were the British, that’s why it’s Tom and Jerry
@Nosferatu Zodd, Wait, so Tom was the good guy all along?
@TheStarHawk, JERRY IS A NAZI
@Dexios S Divine, WWI Germans were not Nazis.
Search up ww1 zombie Russians or something like that
@Canadian Reaper, would love to and I can image it would be interesting but I know all that will come up if CoD zombies stuff 🙃
@ForgottenInTime, actually it has the story. It’s pretty awesome.
But it confirms, Russians are terrifying
@shocking60, as someone currently dating a true Russian I can confirm
@ForgottenInTime, It's called "The Attack of the Dead Men." Their eyes and skin were melting and they were coughing up pieces of their lungs as the 100 Russians charged 7000 Germans with bayonets. The Germans thought the dead had risen to keep fighting, and fled in panic, trampling each other, getting caught in their own barbed wire, and not stopping to take or destroy their artillery.
Attack if the deadmen !
I love the use of Jerry.
This event is kinda creepy to learn about
“The Germans launched a full frontal offensive on Osowiec fortress at the beginning of July; the attack included 14 battalions of infantry, one battalion of sappers, 24-30 heavy siege guns, and 30 batteries of artillery equipped with poison gases
Over twelve battalions of the 11th Landwehr Division, making up 7000 men, advanced after the bombardment and expecting little resistance. They were met at the first defense line by a counter-charge by the 60-100 survivors of the 13th Company of the Russian 226th Infantry Regiment. The Germans became panicked by the bloody appearance of the Russians - the latter coughing up blood due to the gas - and retreated. The five remaining Russian guns subsequently opened fire on the fleeing Germans.”
It’s that or the Russians get gunned down by their superiors for retreating
@megamanx181x, you're confusing WW1 with WW2
@Curmudgeon, really? I only know that based off that Jude law movie enemy at the gates
@megamanx181x, that's set in WW2, gas weapons had been outlawed by that point
