No! I don't want a short GIF! I want to see all the planets do a full revolution!
@TheDoctorsTARDIS, then you have a woeful lack of appreciation for orbit mechanics.
@TheDoctorsTARDIS, in real time
Why is the earth bigger than the sun. Whyyyyyyyy
@buzz killinton, items may not be to actual scale*
@buzz killinton, because we are more importanter!
@buzz killinton, because at that scale the earth would be to small to see
@buzz killinton, because you touch yourself at night
@buzz killinton, because people can't let go of the geocentric model.
@buzz killinton, because the sun would literally be the entire picture (it makes up 99% of our entire solar system)
@Gabe1240, there's WAY MORE empty space than sun
@Pun AH64Apache, apologies, I forgot to throw the word "mass" in there. Either way you would literally only see the sun and maybe a dot or two circling it
@Pun AH64Apache, either way, unless you blow up their scale to fill dead space, you would see almost nothing and that was probably the most space efficient blow up to keep relative distances intact.
@buzz killinton, (SNL reference) I'm PRETTY SURE the Earth is bigger than the sun, PRETTY SURE!
*not to scale, does not compute*
Why is this not a perfect loop!
@SgtSmallFry, if you watch just earth it almost is
@SgtSmallFry, this would have to be literally 250 longer at least, not even counting the moons
Hey guys if you look closer, that thing is a triangle pointing to the months, not pluto. Just trying to clear the confusion.
@SmoothCriminal, because Pluto's not a planet
Interesting. Based on previous pic of mercury having a year being 88days it does seem to orbit the sun a little more than three times so myth not busted.
Pluto is not a planet
@HappysAck84, not according to Jerry Smith.
@SurgeonSean, Stay scientific, Jerry
@HappysAck84, Stop ruining my childhood!
It could have made a perfect loop, but NOOOOOO.
What solar system is this. If the 3rd planet is earth, why is it bigger than the sun? Also why doesn't it rotate on it's own axis aswell, it looks like Africa is in darkness all year round
Wait, doesn't everything orbit the earth?
I thought earth was flat...
Am I the only person who thinks of "Destiny" when I see this?
Despite the few flaws with scale and orbital paths this gif is very satisfying
Oh nice, forgot I uploaded this one
What is this geosentric bullspit earth is the only perfect loop?! #martiansmatter
Venus orbits the sun counter-clockwise
Why does one half of the earth never see the sun?
@NoOneOfConsequence, because it's a sphere orbiting around another sphere
SLOW DOWN WE'RE GOING TO CRASH
There's no way Pluto moves that fast, it's supposed to have the slowest revolution
@a Mudkip, I had same reaction, but I don't think that thing on the edge is Pluto. It's moving directly opposite the Earth.
@a Mudkip, I think it's pointing to the name of the month.
@a Mudkip, I thought it was too, but I remembered that Pluto has an elliptical orbit meaning that at times, it is closer to earth than Neptune.
@bashwell, Pluto actually does travel against the rest of the planets. But yeah, it's going way too fast
