I'm not gonna lie this is stupid annoying. honestly at my university, sacred Heart, there isn't enough parking so to get to class you end up parking illegally and then they ticket you saying that there was "available parking". they always ticket you later after people leave even though when you parked there that was the only spot. it's not like we even park in places where it's dangerous. they hit you with an 85$ ticket and the worst is, pub safe takes up spaces for its civilian cars, and it's cruisers are always parked in spaces through out the day
@The Big Hodge, *Sacred Fart
@The Big Hodge, I once ran a red light. If you didn't know it was there, you'd never see it behind all the trees. I got a ticket for it, just wondering if you think I deserve it.
@notMrWonka, I think they should fix it because it's dangerous. whether or not you should get a ticket depends on whether or not you knew it was there and if you ignored other signs that you should be stopped in going through it (ie traffic is moving perpendicular to you but you go through the red light anyways). one of my best friends is a state trooper and for him he says he'd give the person a warning but never a ticket if they went through it because they couldn't see it and there were no cars going through the intersection from a different direction. I suppose you should slow down though incase you need to stop if you can't see the traffic light
@The Big Hodge, I go to Trinity College in Hartford! We have the same problem, there's no parking in the city and if you use any parking spots on campus you get a ticket no matter what. Even if you spend 200 dollars to register your car to park on campus, you're not even guaranteed a spot and if you park in a reserved spot they ticket you anyway. Really ridiculous
@The Big Hodge, I know what you mean. I go to unlv and we just broke the freshmen class record again. It literally takes me 10-20 minutes to get a spot and that's only if I'm lucky enough to be near someone leaving school. I pay $120 for a parking ticket and I can't park. It's fvcking bullshjt. And all they tell me is oh just wait until people drop out. Like seriously your solution to the problem is other people dropping out. It's pretty insulting
@Rainbowdro420, yeah they're expanding at SHU as well. we went from classes of maybe 600 to 800 to exceeding 2000
@A Math Dealer, home of the worlds most giant doctor!
@The Big Hodge, had a problem like that at the college I went to. There was a guy that got fed up one day when they would park campus PD vehicles in normal spots instead of their reserved spots. He hooked his truck up to one of the cruisers and drug it out of the spot then parked there. That was the highlight of my month
@notMrWonka, you can actually take pictures and video of the intersection with you to court. If it us egregious enough, the judge will let you off. I've seen it happen s couple times.
@iOS10, meh it was three years ago. The cost to appeal was more than the ticket. I truly didn't see it, but the bottom line is I did run the red light. ignorance is not an excuse to avoid a ticket otherwise everyone would go around crying "I didn't know."
@A Math Dealer, Dorian!
@The Big Hodge, eyy I live right by there!
@The Big Hodge, sacred heart? As in the catholic university in ct?
@The Big Hodge, you should appeal that to the judge and explain the problem and in that appeal, ask how to prove it so that you don't seem like some deviant..say deviant..it helps the presentation.
@addibruh, is this addison?
@The Big Hodge, I used to go to bsu. There was no designated student parking so on game days there was no parking to be had. Students would park where they knew they would get a ticket because it was that or miss class and fail. It really sucked.
@A Math Dealer, hue hue hue hue
Having to pay for parking at college is a joke. It's one thing if paying garuntees a spot. Another if I have to park a mile away on the street.
Fück whoever wrote that ticket
@benderama, illegal parking is illegal parking. Unless someone is dying, it's inexcusable, the person clearly knew what they did wss illegal.
@notMrWonka, yea but that negative note was unnecessary
@notMrWonka, it must suck to not be able to see a rainbow in your world of black and white
@benderama, Uga parking services. Notoriously dickish
@afro samurai2012, sorry, but I've had customers asking for discounts because they don't want to pay full price for something. I'm not going to risk getting in trouble because you're a cheapskate. Same thing applies here. There's a reason it's illegal to park in that spot. Yeah the "I hope you fail" part is unnecessary, but the ticket is completely warranted.
It must be hard being that fvcking savage.
That was just rude
I have the feeling the note was not written by the person who gave the ticket.
If your gonna pay 30k to goto a school, you should make sure parking be a #1 issue. If they don't have enough spots in the parking lot what gives you the idea their classes won't be packed.
At my university, University of Winnipeg. There are time limits of an hour on nearby streets. Most classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are 50 minutes. The way the University is situated makes it impossible to park on nearby streets in order to have your car parked for classes. We have petitioned the government who will not budge. For legal parking spots, there are some, but only have a limit of two hours. Then all day parking is extremely expensive. However, there is free parking 5 blocks down, in a very unsafe area. Parking is made to be a money scheme by our governments. In streets nearby schools there needs to be a longer period to park, or more parking in general.
@venom punished snake, How unsafe is the unsafe area? Because it could just look unsafe and actually be fine.
@KeKesUHaulFacility , I agree. Don't leave any valuables in your car, lock it up and be on about your business. Car theft is rare these days.
This isn't your average savage. This is advanced savage.
I had no parking permit once and left a note that it was my brother's car and mine wouldn't start that morning (it was an 8am class and the office opened at 8:30), and they didn't ticket me. Even left a note saying they understand and to have a good day "but be sure to straighten all this out before tomorrow"
Eh, maybe you should have been on time lazy millennial
I got a ticket at my college and just never paid it. They sent me a letter but what can they really do about it.
