My intermediate English assignment was to make a meme, no joke?
I think they’re saying “General Education” as in Gen Ed classes at college. I’m guessing the argument is if they’re paying a lot of money to get a degree in Engineering, why should they have to also pay for a required amount of English of foreign language credits.
@dankblunts420, whoops should have scrolled down to your comment before making mine. Sorry.
@dankblunts420, that’s exactly it. I thought it was called general education everywhere. My bad
@dankblunts420, I mean, I’m in environmental science, but I don’t mind my Gen Ed classes. Found out history is something I’m passionate about, and that Archaeology is interesting AF!
@dankblunts420, All of my gen eds are completely useless and a waste of my money. There are many days I regret going to college because of them.
@Catbug, I’m majoring in computer science and I totally agree, I have been exclusively doing generals so I could knock out my associates in case I happen to switch majors, it’s just taking so long to get done with these pointless classes.
What's general education?
@The Flame War, elementary thru high school? If that's the case, then yes, because their parents pay taxes.
@ThePandaPool , But isn't it important?
@The Flame War, Nearly every job in existance requires a highschool diploma at least, even the military recruitment. It’s not just important, its essential.
@Z0IDBERG, Then wtf is up with this post?
@The Flame War, I think it's just an idiot who hates school and yuppies.
@The Flame War, general education is the set of classes outside of your major (in college), typically required in some fashion for your degree. OP is complaining about having to spend more money on classes that are out of specialty; i.e., are useless.
@Sad Capitalist, Oh. Ok, that explains it. Thanks.
@The Flame War, I’ll just have to repost it with a better description, I meant college classes not related to your major.
I dont really get what this is trying to say, is a 3rd grader supposed to be paying for their education?
Evidently im missing something here
@Fightin First, it is referring to college classes that are unrelated to a persos major
@Patamon, realized that awhile later yeah, they couldve worded it slightly better
@Fightin First, I completely agree
