DO NOT SHAVE A HUSKY!!! It permanently messes up their fur! Once you shave one, their fur will never grow back properly and will tangle and form mats. They will also over heat more once they are shaved and be prone to sunburn. Huskies already have a way to cope with heat: shedding. When they shed their winter coat, their summer coat comes in. The summer coat is designed to keep them cool. Source: I’ve owned 5 huskies (2 currently) and worked with a northern breed dog rescue group.
@Fairy Squad Mother, There are many other breeds too where shaving is bad. The rule of thumb is if your dog has “hair” instead of “fur” then it’s ok, but research your particular breed before you do anything
@Fairy Squad Mother, I've heard you shouldn't really wash dogs a lot either, is that true?
@Kayda, yup, I got an Aussie and if I bathed him to frequently it’d strip his coat of all the oils
@Fairy Squad Mother, truth. There was a study on double coated dogs (huskies/Pyrenees/etc) versus single coated dogs. The double coated regulated their core body temperature in extreme heat and extreme cold better than the single coat dogs in BOTH temperatures.
@Fairy Squad Mother, there is a way to just trim the undercoat. But very few groomers do it properly. It’s best to just brush all their dander out and wash them
@Kayda, once a month or so is fine. Depends on the dog.
@LokiWolf17, my dog got bathed near daily during the summer but that’s because swamp water and mud stinks.
Little dog give big bite
Looks like a furry Pinkie demon.
Pound-for-pound the hardest punching doggo in the WBF.
Honestly though, it just looks like even more of a stupid little rat-dog
